The Candidates' Platforms
As we head from the conventions to the November election, each plank in the parties' platforms is being hotly debated. But what about their system architecture? We went to Netcraft.com's "What's that site running?" service to check the computing platform that powers each major presidential candidate's site. George W. Bush: Microsoft Internet Information Server 5.0 on Windows
Al Gore: Apache 1.3.9 on Linux
Ralph Nader: Apache 1.3.12 on BSD
Patrick Buchanan: Apache 1.3.4 on Linux, but with Microsoft FrontPage extensions
