A Webinar on Designing With LEDs

We interrupt our regular programming to let you know about a webinar next Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 2:00 p.m. ET (11:00 a.m. PT). Anybody looking for an introduction to using LEDs in lighting applications could benefit.

Design News, a sister site, is hosting a webinar next week called "See How LEDs are Revolutionizing the Lighting Industry." This community doesn't have any direct involvement in the webinar, but I'll be attending, and I wanted to let you know about it. It promises to be an accessible introduction for any design engineer looking to understand the basics of driving, cooling, and controlling LEDs in lighting applications.

The presenters are John Perry, a strategic marketing engineer for lighting power products at Texas Instruments, and Jy Bhardwaj, senior vice president of research and development at Lumileds (this site's sponsor). Perry holds a BSEE from New Mexico State University. Bhardwaj holds BEng and PhD degrees from Liverpool University. The webinar will be moderated by Chuck Murray, senior technology editor at Design News.

The webinar is sponsored by Cree (which hardly needs an introduction in this community) and The Bergquist Company, a supplier of thermal management materials, including MCPCBs, to the electronics industry.
